About This Place

Cervejaria Ramiro stands as an iconic seafood restaurant nestled in the heart of Lisbon at Av. Alm. Reis 1 H. Renowned for its unrivaled selection of ocean-fresh delights, this vibrant eatery is a true haven for seafood lovers seeking an authentic Portuguese experience.

From the very first bite, you’re enveloped in a symphony of flavors that capture the essence of the sea. Signature dishes like the succulent Gambas Al Ajillo — prawns sizzling in fragrant garlic oil — and the colossal Giant Tiger Prawn are served with such buttery tenderness that each morsel feels indulgent and luxurious. Equally captivating are the razor clams, which come impressively fresh, soaked in seasoned oil that begs you to dip the toasted bread and savor every drip of sauce.

For those craving variety, Cervejaria Ramiro offers an impressive menu featuring treasures like Oysters, the hearty Steak Sandwich (Prego No Pão) made with tenderloin, and crustacean highlights such as Buey de Mar (Portuguese brown crab) and the spicy-sweet Karides. The atmosphere here perfectly balances lively energy and a warm, welcoming vibe — you’ll often find patrons animatedly savouring their meals or chatting over glasses of chilled rosé and crisp Alvarinho wines, such as the Palácio Da Brejoeira or Soalheiro, both beautifully complementing the seafood’s natural brininess.

The staff enhance the overall experience with thoughtful, attentive service. As noted by a visitor, the team is quick to offer drinks while you wait, ensuring your time in Lisbon’s beloved seaside bistro starts off comfortably. The lively buzz of Cervejaria Ramiro, combined with a reputation for speed and freshness in every dish, ensures your dining is memorable and satisfying.

Several patrons highlight the standout nature of the scarlet prawns, describing their flavor as an “explosion” that delivers what can only be termed a “food orgasm.” It’s clear that each ingredient arrives at your table with impeccable freshness and care, inviting you to savor the ocean’s bounty in every bite.

While the overall impression is overwhelmingly positive, a few guests recommend making reservations ahead of time to avoid waits and note the rare hiccup with the cold crab. Yet these minor points don’t detract from the vivid and overwhelmingly delightful dining journey Cervejaria Ramiro provides.

In summary, if you find yourself in Lisbon craving seafood that is fresh beyond compare, bursting with flavor, and expertly served in a welcoming atmosphere, Cervejaria Ramiro should be your go-to destination. This restaurant transforms a simple meal into an evocative, jubilant celebration of the sea, promising a genuine taste of Portugal's coastal culinary treasures.

The seafood here is incredibly fresh. You can really taste the ocean in every bite. My absolute favorite was the scarlet prawns. The flavor just exploded in my mouth, and the tender, buttery texture was beyond amazing. It’s a true culinary experience and honestly, a food orgasm. 10/10 a must-try when you’re in town!

Recommend you reserve as otherwise could be quite a wait. Absolute 5/5 from the food, to the atmosphere, to the staff. Every dish we tried was delicious, although my personal favourite was the razor clams in garlic oil. If you can imagine your ideal seafood experience, this would be it. Highly recommend you dip the bread into the sauces (like the garlic oil) - it pairs very well together. Staff was friendly and attentive. Empty dishes were cleared quickly. There was no upselling on food - we had eyes larger than our stomachs and the staff wisely advised that what we had was enough and we can order more if we wanted to - and the food spoke for itself as we were all very satisfied and happy at the end of our meal. Of all the restaurants I’ve tried thus far in Lisbon, this would be one I’d come back to over and over again.

Really delicious seafood. We’d recommend the shrimps with garlic, the razor clams, and the scarlet shrimp. The scarlet shrimp is expensive for what it is but might be worth while you’re here. (My fiance really likes that). Skip the crab, it’s cold (they did mention it) but all the rest of the food was warm and fresh, and the cold crab disrupts the flow. Food comes out fast but the service could be better. I’d recommend to reserve a table because it’s busy.

When we arrived, they almost seemed like they expecting us to they ushered us to the patio entrance while asking everyone else to go to the main door. The server told us our table would be ready in a few moments as the previous guests were just settling up. The wait took a little longer, so he offered to start us off with drinks while we waited. It was such nice and thoughtful service. That level of service was provided throughout the meal with every staff member. When we didn’t know how to eat the barnacles, they were so excited to show us how to take it out of the shell and eat it. I’m sure they’ve done it for so many tourists. It’s the attentiveness and friendly service that really made our visit so memorable. Of course the food was spectacular. The seafood with so fresh. And the shrimp with garlic was out of this world. 10/10 recommend

This is a restaurant I've been reading about. Everyone who talks about it rates it highly and I'm not going to be any different. As recommended, I had the bread, gambas, the clams and a large prawn. Everything was fresh and delicious. The toasted bread mopped up all the lovely sauces. The reservation was paid for and we got to our table with no incident. If I were to go again, I'd make the paid reservation again. Others had to line up and it didn't look like a short line. Regretfully, I had no more space but really wanted the cold crab that the tables around me were pounding away at... I will have it next time. I'd go again in a heartbeat!

We came here for dinner and the food was mostly good but it didn't blow us away. Between the three of us, we shared the prawns in garlic (good), clams with garlic (sauce was good), tiger prawns (nice), scallops (these were just ok) and jamon with bread (good). You have to prepay €25 each to make a reservation. The service wasn't particularly warm but it was efficient.

All my friends said this was a must try restaurant in Lisbon, and after visiting, I have to agree. I was lucky that day since there was no wait for a table. After checking the menu, I noticed it’s mostly seafood, so if you don’t eat seafood or are vegetarian, I wouldn’t recommend it. But otherwise, this place truly lives up to the hype. I love crab, and I had the best crab of my life here! The shrimp was my second favorite, and I saw many people ordering the clams and garlic shrimp as well. The service was excellent too!

This restaurant truly lived up to its reputation. I was grateful for how professionally they prepared such fresh seafood. It was impressive that they even had a designated waiting area with number tickets for the huge crowd of customers. Despite being incredibly busy, the staff were very friendly and their service was flawless and professional. They even peeled the shrimp at the table and poured the shrimp juices back over the shrimp — the flavor was absolutely incredible. A remarkable dining experience.
